Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Veriarch collects, uses, and protects your information when you visit our website.

Who We Are

Veriarch is a digital archive and research platform exploring hidden histories, religious mysteries, conspiracy theories, and philosophical paradoxes.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam.

An anonymised string (hash) from your email address may be shared with the Gravatar service to check if you’re using it. You can view the Gravatar privacy policy here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture becomes visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, avoid including images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the site may download and extract this data from public images.

Cookies

If you leave a comment, you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so you don’t have to fill in your details again when leaving another comment. These cookies last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we’ll also set up cookies to save your login information and screen display preferences:

  • Login cookies last for two days.
  • Screen options cookies last for a year.
  • If you select “Remember Me,” your login will persist for two weeks.
  • Logging out removes the login cookies.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie contains no personal data and simply records the post ID of the article. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded Content from Other Websites

Articles on Veriarch may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, external articles). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the same way as if the visitor had visited the other site directly.

These third-party sites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, especially if you are logged into those websites.

Who We Share Your Data With

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

We do not sell or rent personal data to any third parties.

How Long We Retain Your Data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This helps us recognise and approve follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them for moderation.

For users who register on our site (if applicable), we store any personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (username cannot be changed). Website administrators can also view and edit that information.

What Rights You Have Over Your Data

If you have an account or have left comments on this site, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we’re obliged to retain for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where Your Data Is Sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Affiliate Links & Monetisation Disclaimer

Some articles on Veriarch may contain affiliate links. If you click one of these links and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

We only recommend tools, books, or platforms that align with our values of independence, curiosity, and critical thought. Affiliate links are disclosed in article footers where applicable.

Veriarch is also supported through voluntary donations and optional memberships. These help sustain our research and keep the site free from intrusive advertising.
